SPARTA, NJ - On Nov 15 at approximately 9:15 p.m. a Sparta man was arrested after police were notified of an erratic driver on Main Street. 

Sgt. Keith Hannam located the vehicle in question, a 1999 Jeep on Main Street in front of the police station.  After making independent observations of erratic operation, the vehicle was stopped.  The operator, 76 year-old Edward Neighbour was arrested after he failed a series of Field Sobriety Tests.

Mr. Neighbour was transported to Headquarters for processing and breath testing.  He was later charged with DWI, Careless Driving and Failure To Keep Right.  Neighbour was released several hours later to a sober adult.  P.O. Tom Snyder assisted with the investigation.
