SPARTA, NJ - On December 6, at approximately 2:50 p.m. a Lafayette woman was arrested after police observed her vehicle, a 2004 Toyota, on the shoulder of Sparta Avenue.  It had been involved in a minor one car motor vehicle accident.

Cpl. Marc Rubino arrived on scene and approached the driver, identified as 67 year-old Anna C. Rosko to ascertain what happened. After further investigation, Cpl. Rubino observed that Rosko’s vehicle left the roadway, struck a street sign, went up an embankment before re-entering the roadway. She stated that she was not injured in the accident.

Cpl. Rubino detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath as he spoke to her and conducted Field Sobriety Tests.  Rosko failed these tests and a subsequent breath test. She was charged with DWI, Careless Driving and Failure To Keep Right.

She was released to a sober adult several hours later with a pending court date. Sgt. John Lamon and P.O. Arlene Lippencott assisted with the investigation.
