SPARTA, NJ - On March 24, at approximately 11:01p.m. P.O. Kurt Morris and P.O. Tim Lynott were in the parking lot of the 7-11 on Pine Cone Lane.  They observed a 2005 Nissan travelling at a high rate of speed on Hunters Lane.

The vehicle then ran the stop sign at the intersection of Hunters Lane and Pine Cone Lane, skidding through that intersection.  The vehicle then entered the parking lot of the 7-11.

The officers approached the operator of the vehicle, 32-year-old Charles J. Perdue II from Sparta, as he was exiting his vehicle.  The officers determined that Perdue was possibly intoxicated and after failing a series of Field Sobriety Tests, he was arrested for DWI.
