SPARTA, NJ - On December 21, at approximately 12:13 a.m., a Sparta man was arrested after police stopped a 2005 Acura for failing to dim its high beams on Woodport Road. Lt. John Paul Beebe stopped the vehicle on Pine Cone Lane.
After detecting the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath, Lt. Beebe turned the investigation over to Police Officer Arlene Lippencott. After failing a series of Field Sobriety Tests, the driver, 53-year-old John F. Wilson was arrested for DWI. He was transported to Headquarters for processing and breath testing.
Mr. Wilson was charged with DWI, Careless Driving and Failure to Dim High Beams. He was released several hours later to a sober adult.
