SPARTA, NJ – Police Officer Dan Elig was traveling on East Shore Trail, on routine patrol when he came upon a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road.  The car was blocking the road.

Elig turned around to see if the driver needed assistance.  Instead, the driver attempted to back her car into a driveway.  In doing so, the driver went across the grass and nearly struck another vehicle.

PO Elig approached the driver, 62-year-old Mary M Rojas from Sparta.  PO Elig determined Rojas was possibly intoxicated.
