SPARTA, NJ - The Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation’s 2016 Earth Day Cleanup yielded over 50 bags of garbage around the headwaters and watershed of the Wallkill River.  Around 125 volunteers of all ages participated this year. Along with the bags of garbage, they recovered 20 full bags of recyclables on the cool Saturday of April 23.

“Thank you to all who participated on a team,” said organizer Laura Parker. “Thank you to all of our sponsors:  NJ Clean Communities, Sunset Vista Community Garden & Learning Center, The Hardware Store, Stop N’ Shop, Simple Clean and Sparta Township.  We hope you stay excited about protecting our region’s lakes and aquifers.”
