SPARTA,NJ – Sparta summer events are in full swing this week end.

On Friday, July 13 night the free Summer Music Concert series continues with Skyla Burrell at Dykstra Park behind the library playground.  The rain location is Mohawk Avenue School

Tickets for a drawing for St. Moritz Grill and Bar $50 gift certificates at each show come with a  donation to the Sparta Cultural Arts Committee.

On Saturday, the Sparta Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine in the parking lot behind the Sparta Health and Wellness Center at 89 Sparta Avenue.

The Sparta Public Library is holding a Creation Station: Fans event for children ages three and older.  Children can be dropped off in the Children’s room to make a paper fan from 11 a.m. until noon.  No registration is required.

On Saturday night Sparta Recreation presents The Karate Kid as part of the Family Movie Night also at Dykstra Park.  The free movie will begin around dusk but the park opens at 6:30 p.m. As always, prior to the movie, music will be provided by a DJ, throughout the evening there will be door prizes, face painting, tattoos.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The rain date is July 21.  The recreation department suggests parental discretion is advised.

Sparta Township ordinances prohibit both alcohol and dogs, even on a leash in Dykstra Park.
