FRANKLIN, NJ – Franklin police were following up on a tip that a wanted man was hiding in a residence on Walsh Road. They went to the residence where Nicholas Barrise was hiding. Barrise was wanted by the Superior Court of Sussex County.
When Franklin police arrived at the home, the 28 year-old Franklin man jumped out of a second-story window. He was immediately apprehended, however, despite attempts to resist arrest, according to police.
Detective Vander Ploeg found Barrise to have two different types of a controlled dangerous substance on him when taken into custody. Barrise was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled dangerous substance and resisting arrest.
Bail was set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option. He was lodged in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional facility in lieu of bail and in lieu of the no bail warrant from the Superior Court.
The charges may be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
