Each year we lose thousands of people of all ages from drug overdose globally.  Some people survive but suffer permanent injuries, causing devastation to their families and friends.

In Sussex County alone, there were about 52 administrations of Narcan in 2016.  Those are 52 individual lives saved with an opiate overdose reversal administered.

On Monday, January 30, The Center for Prevention and Counseling in Newton will be hosting a Narcan training open to all community members.  Overdose is preventable and knowing the facts about drugs and the signs and symptoms of overdoses can equip you with the ability to save a life. These trainings also help provide education and increase awareness of the issues surrounding substance use disorders while highlighting resources for recovery.

This training is free, however, pre-registration is required.  Please contact Katie at katie@centerofprevention.org or call (973)383-4787 ext. 222 for more information or to register for the training. The Center for Prevention and Counseling will host this free Narcan training at The Center’s Satellite Office at 65 Newton Sparta Road from 6-8:30pm on Monday, January 30, 2017.
