To The Tee Golf is bringing adults into the game of golf in a fast, fun and affordable way through Get Golf Ready. The nationwide initiative is a series of five introductory lessons offered by PGA/LPGA Professionals in a small-group environment from April 8th – 12th for the affordable price of $129. Other spring sessions are available. Visit www.totheteegolf.com for dates at times.
“The Get Golf Ready program provides an affordable and rewarding educational experience for those who are interested in learning more about the game of golf,” said PGA instructor MaryBeth Kohberger. “The program will provide a casual, yet structured setting using fun, skill enhancement formats to help participants become comfortable on the course and enable them continue to develop their skills as golfers. We encourage you to bring a friend or family member to get outdoors, soak in some sunshine and get some exercise while learning a game for a lifetime.”
Entering its fourth year, Get Golf Ready has introduced the game to thousands of adults who have never played golf or who have minimal experience in the game, through a five-class instructional program. Overall, participants will learn techniques regarding chipping and putting, full swing, half swing and bunker play as well as the fundamental guidelines of use and maintenance of golf equipment, keeping score and navigating the course. Significant on-course learning opportunities are part of each lesson, as well as background on the game’s Rules, etiquette, history and values. Surveys from facilities show that Get Golf Ready averaged 41 students per facility in 2011. Of those, 78 percent continued to play or practice; 60 percent were women and 28 percent were minorities.
Following the completion of the program, a smooth transition into Get Golf Ready graduate outings, and other free and low-cost programs offered by To The Tee Golf are available.
Studies clearly show that playing golf is good for your health and wellness. While being outside and enjoying the sunshine and serene landscape, a golfer will have a healthier state of well-being. Playing a round of golf also burns calories and rejuvenates the mind through one of the best forms of moderate aerobic activity - walking. It is also a great way to spend time with families and friends and to enjoy the outdoors.
