SPARTA, NJ - Sparta girls lacrosse had another big win on Tuesday when they took down Kent Place 14-4. The consistency of Kaitlin Mead this season has been the biggest headline of the season for the Sparta girls lacrosse team.
While the star or second star of each game has been different, Mead has been the goal scoring threat throughout the season. Mead has six goals, one assist and won seven face-offs, contributing to the defeat of the Summit team.
Hallack, who has also been a consistent threat in the goal scoring department, had four goals and one assist.
Julianna McGuire had a goal and an assist, helping the team immensely with 13 face-off victories. Brianna Falco had a goal and an assist.
Sparta led 6-3 at halftime before taking off and outscoring Kent Place 8-1 in the second half. Hailey Mead and Courtney Klein each added a goal.
Madison Levinson followed up her 17 save performance in the previous outing with another dandy. She had six saves but combined with the Sparta defense to stifle the Kent Place attack.
Colleen McAloon had two successful shots for Kent Place while goalie Riley Kaufman saved 11 Spartan shots.
The girls are now 7-1 including a strong 4-0 in the division. They take on Kinnelon on Friday.
