SPARTA, NJ – Skyview Golf Club will once again be the site of the James B Nye Scholarship fund golf outing, dinner and auction on Sept 30.  The format for the golf potion of the fundraiser is a 9 hole scramble that begins at 3 p.m.

“You don’t have to play golf to join us for dinner,” said Ilse Wolfe.  “Drinks, dinner and the auction are set to being at 5:30.”

Last year one of the popular auction items was Pizza with Patrick.  The winner, Dorothy LaBeau, gave it to her son Chase.  Chase and his friend Steve Epstein had dinner with New Jersey Devils hockey team member Patrick Elias.

According to Wolfe,  “The fund was establish in 2013 to honor Jim's commitment to excellence in education and to provide some financial support towards college costs to a student who embodies and demonstrates qualities of leadership and civic responsibility.”

Nye, who died in May 2013, was committed to public service and excellence in education.  To honor his vision, a scholarship fund bearing his name was established.  All profits from this outing will go to the fund.

Wolfe and her daughters have awarded a scholarship to a graduating senior from Sparta High School, for the past two years at the Senior Academic Awards dinner.

Registration for this year’s outing is now open.  The cost is $125 for dinner and golf and $60 for dinner only.
