NEWTON, NJ – December 28, 2016 – Boys in grades K-5 and their families are invited to attend any of these “Join Cub Scouting” events to learn more about the Cub Scout program and to see what adventures await boys and their families in Cub Scouting.  Come learn about what you need to do to be prepared to build a pinewood derby car or be ready to go camping this spring. The Cub Scout program expanded this past September to include Kindergartners as “Lion” Scouts!!

The pinewood derby is an opportunity for a boy to build a small wooden car with his family and then race it against other Cub Scouts in his area!!  This is an activity typically done in January or February each year.

The Spring Camporee will be held at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation in Stanhope on the weekend of June 2 – 4.  Activities will include camping, fishing, climbing, archery, hiking, campfires and more.
