Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP is hosting the 2016 Non-Profit Summit on March 16,
2016. The focus of the Summit will be on sharing “Best Practices” for non-profit
staff and board members seeking to achieve the greatest impact in the community.
Thomas Ryan, Esq., Managing Partner and Chair of the Employment and Labor
Practice Group at Laddey, Clark & Ryan will moderate the Summit. “We are very
excited to bring a distinguished group of experts in several areas of non-profit
management together to speak to area non-profit organizations,” said Ryan. He
added, “We hope this will become an annual event.”
Speakers at the Summit will include local area experts. Mary Jo Smith, PHR, Chief
Human Resources Officer for SCARC will speak about managing a non-profit
workforce. Smith has worked in human resources for SCARC for over 16 years. Jim
Furgeson, Director of Community and Donor Relations for Atlantic Health System at
Newton Medical Center will speak about the importance of community relations as a
catalyst for development. John D. Carrico II, CPA, Partner at Cullari Carrico, LLC. will
speak about the importance of proper accounting and financial compliance.
Carrico has extensive experience in accounting, auditing, management consulting
and tax services for both national and international non-profit organizations.
Finally, Angelo J. Bolcato, Esq., Chair of Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP’s Business Law
Practice Group and the Chairman of the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce Board
of Trustees, will discuss legal compliance. Bolcato will speak about non-profit
