MAHWAH, NJ- Through the first seven games, Sparta's defense has been stout. Madison Levinson didn't have to make an extraordinary amount of saves. Sparta knew that they had a good goalie in case a game like Saturday's happened and Levinson stepped up. Her 17 saves helped Sparta win their sixth game out of seven, 11-6.
Following the trend that has been set through the beginning of the season, Kaitlin Mead led Sparta offensively. She wasn't one dimensional, either. She had seven goals, two assists and won 13 face-offs. She single-handedly outscored Mahwah.
Jacqui Hallack had two goals and an assist. Julianna McGuire had one goal, one assist and won ten face-offs. Lauren Neufield also had one goal and one assist.
For Mahwah, Olivia Huss and Erin Jaffe had two goals each. Huss added an assist.
The Lady Spartans are back in action Tuesday against Kent Place. They are 6-1 on the season.
