SPARTA, NJ - Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP took their employee wellness challenges to a new level of giving.

“Our firm understands that personal wellness and giving back to our community are priorities,” says Managing Partner Tom Ryan.  “Our wellness challenges have positive physical and mental effects on our staff members. They also allow them to feel connected to the local community.”

In the firm’s most recent challenge three local personal trainers volunteered to meet with attorneys and staff members once a week to help them reach personal fitness and wellness goals.

Each participant paid twenty dollars to enter the challenge, which raised $380.00. At the end of the contest the teams donated the participation collection along with a firm matched donation totaling $760.00 to the Wounded Warrior Project.

“This particular challenge allowed us to compete with each other while raising donations for this well-deserving organization that benefits wounded warriors and their families,” says Attorney Tiffany Heineman.

Each team had to meet five team goals in nutrition, overall weight loss, participation, a fit test and daily miles/steps.  Team members also set personal fitness/wellness goals and earned bonus points for meeting those goals.

The office was divided into three teams, White, Green and Gold, according to fitness levels, interests and goals. A local trainer led each team.

Melissa Prestipino, a Physical Therapist and certified personal trainer with Beach Body, led the Team White.

Donna Villavincencio, coach of the winning Team Green, is also a certified personal trainer who specializes in creating fitness and nutrition plans for adults and children through her business, Fit by D.

Dina Romeo, a certified personal trainer who is also an instructor at Black Bear Fitness in Jefferson, led Team Gold. Team Gold was made up of the LCR Race Team members who wanted to improve their overall conditioning and times.

“It was not as competitive as some of our other challenges,” says Partner Lauren Fraser.  “This one was more about getting back into shape, choosing a healthy lifestyle and most importantly giving back.”
