SPARTA, NJ - Holy Counselor Lutheran Church, located in Vernon and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, located in Sparta are glad to host a screening of National Geographic's newest documentary, "Gender Revolution".  We will screen this documentary on Monday, February 6 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 246 Woodport Rd, Sparta.

In "Gender Revolution", Katie Couric travels across the U.S. to talk with scientists, psychologists, activists, authors and families about the complex issue of gender. This documentary complements the January 2017 edition of the National Geographic magazine that focused on the gender revolution. "Stories, whether through film or the lives of people around us, help us connect with and understand these issues in a way that changes lives," said Jamie Bruesehoff, parent of a transgender child.

Following the viewing a panel discussion, comprised of parents, clergy, and local professionals including Jennifer Whitlock, a licensed professional counselor and gender specialist and Aaron Potenza from Garden State Equality, will take place. All folks living or working in the Morris & Sussex County are welcome to join Holy Counselor & Shepherd of the Hills on this evening of learning & sharing.
