The Sparta Historical Society is preparing for “A Heady Affair and Tea” on Sunday, June 4, 2017, 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. at the Sparta Avenue Stage, 10 Sparta Avenue, Sparta.   An English “Cream” Tea is on the menu.  It consists of Scones, Lemon Curd, Clotted Cream, Jams, and little cakes.


The afternoon event will feature Professor Julia Sharp of Centenary University, who will present a a program on why “A Hat is Just a Hat...or Is It?!”  Sharp specializes in fashion apparel, theatre costume design and construction, and textiles.  Her designs have been displayed at the International Textile and Apparel Association.  Gail Gastelu, owner/publisher of The Tea House Times and Producer of Tea Course, will discuss The Wonders of Tea.  Tickets are $25 per person, or $20 for Sparta Historical Society members.
