SPARTA, NJ – A mother and daughter face multiple drug charges after getting pulled over for driving erratically.
On Jan 1 at 12:29 a.m. Police Officer Tom Snyder was dispatched to Route 15 after receiving report of an erratic driver. PO Snyder observed the vehicle, a 2006 Ford Taurus traveling southbound. When he stopped the car, he spoke with the driver 26 year-old Jade Marie Naseef and immediately detected the odor of raw marijuana, according to police.
PO Snyder investigated and found Naseff of Spring Valley, NY to have a small amount of marijuana. She was placed under arrest.
PO Snyder then questioned a passenger in the vehicle. He found the passenger had provided a false name and was also in possession of marijuana. The passenger, Lisa Naseef also of Spring Valley, NY was found to be the mother of the driver Jade Marie.
The 52 year-old was found to have active warrants from Bloomfield, NJ. She was placed under arrest.
Both women were transported to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.
The driver, Jade was charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle. She was later released pending a court hearing.
Her mother, Lisa was charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Hindering Her Own Apprehension by Providing False Information. She was turned over to Bloomfield Police on active warrants and also has a pending court date.
