SPARTA, NJ - Police were dispatched to a Natale Drive address for a reported burglary at 4:28 p.m. on March 7.  A neighbor of the homeowner contacted police to advise his neighbor’s front door was open and he could see jewelry and other items scattered in the downstairs of the residence. 

Police responded and processed the scene for evidence.  After further investigation by the Sparta Police Detective Bureau, they were able to determine that 25-year-old Michael Salsano of Somerville was involved with the burglary. 

Salsano was apprehended in Somerset, N.J. by members of the detective bureau several days later.  Salsano was charged with Burglary, third degree crime and Criminal Mischief, a disorderly persons offense. 

He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail on $10,000.00 bail.  Detective Sargent Terrence Mulligan, Det. Jeff McCarrick, Sgt. Joseph Pensado, Cpl. Adam Carbery, Police Officer CJ Grauerholz and P.O. Dan Elig assisted with the investigation.
