Fairfield, NJ -- The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare announced their endorsement of U.S. Navy veteran and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Mikie Sherrill for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.

“Mikie Sherrill understands and supports the critical roles that Social Security and Medicare play in the retirement and health security of our nation’s older citizens and their families,” said Max Richtman, President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. “She knows, too, the particular importance of Social Security and Medicare for the independence and dignity of older women. That’s why National Committee members support excellent candidates like Mikie who understand the challenges faced by women in the workplace, as caregivers and as retirees.”

“I am proud to earn the endorsement of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare,” said Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill. “Medicaid and Social Security are promises to all Americans after a lifetime of hard work, and should be strengthened. In Congress, I will work hard to protect Social Security and Medicare, and to make sure our seniors can retire with dignity and respect.”

The mission of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare is to protect, preserve, promote, and ensure the financial security, health, and the well being of current and future generations of maturing Americans. They have 4,450 members in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
