SPARTA, NJ – There was a small gathering in front of the old stone building at 200 Woodport Road on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of Askin & Hooker, LLC Sparta’s newest law firm.

William Askin and Todd Hooker welcomed about 20 people with food and drinks and tours of the refurbished ground floor offices. 

Sparta Mayor Christine Quinn was there to welcome the new business to the community and cut the ribbon.  Jacqueline Espinoza represented the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce.  Thomas D’Urso and Deena Marie Smith came to give their support from First Hope Bank.

Askin has been an attorney for 25 years practicing Real Property Law, Wills, Trusts, Estates and Elder Law, though recently he has focused his attention increasingly on helping clients deal with issues relating to estates; planning, administration and litigation.  Askin is an active member of National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Hooker has focused his practice on litigating on behalf of business and individuals.  Hooker has also represented executors and beneficiaries in estate litigation and worked with families facing the challenges of divorce.

Hooker is a veteran having served in the United States Army as in infantry paratrooper with the 82 Airborne Division and served in the first Gulf War.

“My family has been here for four generations,” said Hooker expressing the importance of having ties to Sparta.  “We are a local law firm with deep roots in the community.  It is a privilege to be able to serve our friends, family and local businesses meeting their local needs.”
