NEWTON, NJ – They are back in. Newton has reelected current Mayor Daniel Flynn and Helen Le Frois, who had previously served on town council. 

The results:

  • Daniel Flynn 392 votes  - 30.18 percent of the vote
  • Helen Le Frois 369 votes – 28.41 percent of the vote
  • Anwar Qarmout 325 votes – 25.02 percent of the vote
  • Margaret Baldini 193 votes – 14.86 percent of the vote
  • Write-ins 20 votes - 1.54 percent of the vote

Flynn said, “I’m really grateful to be able to serve the town of Newton for another four years.  Thank you to all who came out to vote.  I will continue to do the best job I can for the next four years.”

“I’m so excited to be back doing a job I love,” said Le Frois.  “Thank you to my past supporters and current supporters.  And thanks to the fire department for their voter registration efforts.  I’m over the moon.”

Both Le Frois and Flynn will take their oath of office on July 1.
