Newton's 16th Annual Taste of Newton Event

NEWTON, NJ—The Town of Newton will hold the 16th Annual ‘Taste of Newton’ event on Monday, September 11 from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m. on Spring Street.

The theme, ‘All American Dream’ will come alive as restaurants and culinary businesses line Spring Street for a chance to showcase their talents by supplying samples of their cuisines.

The rain date will be the same time and place on Tuesday.

Beverages including beer, wine and mixed drinks may be purchased throughout the evening as well.

Live music by Reno will fill the street for event goers’ listening and dancing pleasure.

Tickets are available in advance for $45 individually, $85 per couple, and $400 for a table of ten. Tickets are also available at the Chamber office (61 Spring Street, Newton Phone 973-300-0433).

For more details of the event and to purchase tickets please visit the website for the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce (GNCC), who sponsors the event at www.greaternewtoncc.com.

Organizers hope this affair will increase the community awareness of the many eating establishments in Newton.

Proceeds from the evening help to fund the GNCC scholarship programs, two of which are Culinary Scholarships for deserving students who wish to further their education in the food industry.

SPARTA,  NJ – A Paterson man was stopped for speeding ended up getting picked up on outstanding warrants.  On February 10 around 11:20 a.m. Sparta Police Officer Thomas Snyder stopped Jonathan Rodriguez, 32 for going 80 mph in a 55 mph, according to police.

One Injured in Two-Family House Fire in Newton

Coalition for Health and Safe Communities to Host Workshop for Community Pharmacists
