On Saturday, February 10th at 7 PM, the Sussex County Chapter of the National Organization for Women will be
hosting a comedy-night fundraiser at The Barrel House on Spring Street in Newton. The event will showcase
talented women from the Sussex County and tri-state area, including both musical performances and stand-up
comedy. Tickets are $35 and include both entertainment and appetizers.

Flo Hannes will be headlining the event. Flo is a comic and a professor at SUNY Orange in New York, where she
serves as the Chairperson of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. She’s been an active supporter of many community programs and agencies in the past, including "Weaving the Community: the Orange County 9/11 Quilt"--an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program initiative involving 1,600 members of the Orange County
community, which has been her most ambitious and rewarding project to date. She’s been recognized by the YWCA Orange County and Girls Scouts Heart of the Hudson as the 2011 Woman of Achievement in Education; the Jewish Family Service of Orange County as a 'Shining Community Star'; and Elant, Inc. as the recipient of the 2013 Community Signature Award. Her one-woman comedy shows, entitled "Conversations with a Jewish Mother" and more recently "When Did I Become My Mother" have raised over $30,000 for not-for-profit agencies.

"We are very grateful and excited that Flo is sharing her time and talent with us here in Sussex County," noted Lindsay Campbell, President of the Sussex County NOW Chapter. "We are also honored to be presenting the comedic debut of Zookeeper Lori, along with a number of other wonderful local musicians including Theresa Hamel. This is sure to be a fun night out in Newton full of great performances by talented women, and we hope to see many of our friends and neighbors there."

Tickets can be purchased online at bit.ly/NOW210, or at the door on the night of the event (subject to remaining
availability). All proceeds from this event will benefit Sussex County NOW.
