SPARTA – Ten students at Hilltop Country Day School recently received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in honor of their dedication and devotion to serving others.
The award, which is issued by Points of Light Institute and the Corporation for National and Community Service on behalf of the President of the United States, was established to recognize individuals who give their time in service to others, ultimately benefitting their schools and communities. Following their example, all Americans are encouraged to demonstrate patriotism through volunteer service and civic participation.
To qualify, a child (aged 14 and under) must accumulate 50 hours of community service for the bronze award, 75 for the silver, and 100 hours for the gold award.
