NEWTON, NJ – The primary on Tuesday brought voters to the polls to select candidates for their parties to run in the general election in November. For the Sussex County Freeholder race Herbert Yardley defeated Ailish Hambel for the Repubilcan party. Democrat Daniel Perez was unchallenged.
At the state level Senate, Assembly and Governor’s candidates were also on the ballot. The Associated Press compiled the results.
For the State Senate GOP primary for District 24 Steve Oroho overwhelmingly defeated William Hayden.Jennifer Hamilton was the uncontested democrat on the ballot.
Republican candidates for State Assembly District 24 Parker Space and Harold Wirth will be representing the party in November. For the democrats Kate Matteson and Gina Trish will be on the ballot in November.
At the top of ballot, the republican candidate for governor will be Kim Guadagno and democrat candidate will be Phil Murphy.
