Scholarships Earned by Recent Sparta High School Grads

SPARTA, NJ –Two recent Sparta High School graduates have received recognition from the colleges they are attending.

Jill Dempsey has received a scholarship from SUNY Oswego.  The Destination Oswego Scholarship, worth $5000 each year, goes to a high achieving freshmen from outside New York.

Jeff Rea of SUNY Oswego said, “Dempsey deserved a place at SUNY Oswego for fall of 2014 and was scheduled to begin classes August 25, majoring in English.”

Brianne Marie Eisenecker has received an academic scholarship from Lebanon Valley College. Eisenecker, intending to pursue a major in early childhood education and special education, has been admitted to The Valley for the fall 2014 semester.

In addition, James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA has announced these Sparta High School Graduates have been accepted into the Class of 2018:

  • Elizabeth Willis ,who plans to major in Health Sciences.
  • Sydney Nolan, who plans to major in Health Sciences.
  • Maxx Levatino, who plans to major in Management.
  • Alex Kaplan, who plans to major in Nursing.
  • Morgan Willis, who plans to major in Nursing.
  • Lauren Waselik, who plans to major in Studio Art.
  • Jillian Fitzell has not yet declared a major.

SPARTA, NJ – A Newton woman, pulled over for a broken tail light on her black Kia ended up in custody.  On February 16 around 12:50 p.m. Sparta Police Officer Thomas Herd stopped Meagan Klein, 44, on Route 15, police report.
