SPARTA, NJ – Power outages affect residents of Sparta and Ogdensburg on Monday night. According to JCP&L’s Trisha Ingram approximately 1,200 people are still without power as of 11:30 p.m. The outage is due to an “issue at the substation,” according to the spokesperson.
At 10:18 p.m. JCP&L was reporting 3032 or 8640 customers in Sparta or 35 percent without power. In Ogdensburg another 393 of 968 customers were in the dark as well.
“They were able to switch about two thirds of the customers to another line,” Ingram said. The expectation is to have power fully restored by midnight. No further information about the cause of the outage was available.
