STARTA, NJ-Sparta Middle School student Isabella Sergent has been accepted into the Summer Institute for the Gifted at Vassar College as a residential student.  She will be spend nearly three weeks on campus studying from a selection of courses in the Humanities, Math/Science/Technology, the Arts and Fitness.

The Sergent family moved to Sparta last July from Beacon Falls, Connecticut.  Sergent also has many interests outside of her academics.  She has been riding horses since the age of three, competing and volunteering with the Special Olympics, Equestrian division.  Acting is another hobby which she does through the Sparta Recreation department.  Additionally, the seventh grader "begged (her) family to host a French student from the recent exchange program which, turned out to be a great experience," her mother admitted.

Isa, as she is called, will be heading off to her early college experience next July.
