SPARTA, NJ – The students at Alpine Elementary School will be focusing on manners for February.  Each month Alpine Elementary School holds a Character Education Assembly where the character trait of the month is introduced and shared.

During the assembly one first grade class read a story about manners, read a poem and sang a song, according to Heather Yanoff the school’s counselor.

Character Education Certificates are also handed out to the students who exhibited the trait of the previous month.  January was citizenship month.  Nominated by the school’s staff Ella Devore, Ava Serio and Nicholas Panas received their certificates from Yanoff.
