BRANCHVILLE, NJ - Playing at Skylands Stadium on Military Appreciation Day Sparta beat Newton on Saturday, 4-3.  Jerome Sebastian starting on the mound for Sparta going four innings giving up six hits, and two walks earning two strikes.

Chris Murray finished the game for the win.  He threw for three innings allowing only one hit and striking out three, two to end the game.

Sparta came from behind, scoring four in the bottom of the fifth.  The two out rally started with Jake Zerillo's double.  Eric Catorina got on with a single.  Matt Guerra got Sparta on the board with an RBI single.  Cole Patten was next to the plate earning a two RBI triple driving in Catorina and Guerra. Chris Murray drove Patten in for the go ahead run on an RBI single.

Sparta goes to Montville on Monday.
