TEANECK, NJ - The Sparta High School boys basketball team lost to Teaneck by a score of 70-48 in the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 final in the NJSIAA tournament.
Teaneck led through the whole game, outscoring Sparta, 25-15, in the third quarter.
Mitch Cohen was the top scorer for the Spartans with 16 points, including four free-throws. Matt Chemis was next with 13 points for the night and Kevin Foulds close behind with 12. Anthony Argula and Dylan Mendal each contributed three.
For the Highwaymen Myles McLeod put up the most points with 16. Corrie Brown had 14 and Ceasar DeJesus also put up double digits with 12.
After sweeping through their playoff bracket, including a quadruple over-time win over Bergenfield, Sparta finished at 22-6. Teaneck is 28-2.
