SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Board of Education thanked Todd Muth for his service to the community at the December regular meeting last week. At the beginning of the meeting board vice president Kelly McEvoy presented Muth with a plaque in recognition of his time as a member of the Sparta Board of Education.
Muth served one 3-year term and was unsuccessful in his bid for a second term in this past election.
“I just want to say it has been a great experience working with you all,” Muth said at the close of the meeting.
The next board of education meeting is scheduled for January 4 at 7 p.m. New members will take the oath of office and leadership will be confirmed at the reorganization meeting. Two board members are currently serving McEvoy and Kim Bragg. They will be joined by Michael McGovern elected to his first term in November.
The board is in a period of transition. Superintendent Dr. Michael Rossi moved into the position less than a month ago. The business office will be headed up by interim Business Administrator and Board Secretary Anthony Mistretta beginning on Jan. 17.
