SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta High School boys basketball team took their home opener from Morristown on Wednesday, 62-45. 

Jack Cavanaugh had 15 points leading the team with two from 3-point range and three free throws.  He also grabbed four rebounds.

Jake Vreeland put up 13 points with six 2-pointers and a free throw.  He contributed defensively as well with six rebounds.

Cam Riley had 12 points on the night.  Dante Joefield worked the defense with four rebounds and six steals.  Joefield also added eight points.

It was a team effort with points from Zach Ammirati, Thomas Ferrara, Aidan Mastandrea and Alex Podolski.

The Spartans will play in Roxbury on Thursday at 5 p.m.
