SPARTA, NJ - The Spartans had 11 players score points, including four players in double figures when they hosted Al-Ghazaly beating them 63-35.

"It's fun," Jordan Trzcinski said.

Games like these allow Coach Brian Brennan to bring up players from JV and reward players for their hard work at practice. All that led to the "fun" comment from the star of tonight's game, Trzcinski. The senior had 11 points and five rebounds.

With a senior-laden squad, games like this show Brennan what he'll have next year when four of the starting lineup and many bench players, including Trzcinsky, will be gone.

Players like sophomore guard Dante Joefield and junior forward Jake Vreeland will lead the Spartans next year. Trzcinski doesn't think they will have a hard time. "There will be no drop off next season." said Trzcinski.

Vreeland had eight points and three rebounds. while Alex Podolski had 12 points and five rebounds. Kyle Ruban and Ben Melville had 10 points apiece.

This is the first year the Al-Ghazaly had put a varsity team out on the hardwood.  For a new team with a 19-year-old coach, the players from the Wayne charter school showed a lot of heart and promise. Guard Moyad Abdul-Huda had 14 points and three rebounds.

The Spartan boys are back in action on Tuesday against West Morris Central at home.
