SPARTA, NJ – There was a big crowd at Sparta High School’s Veteran’s Field for the Sparta v Pope John Lacrosse game. 

Sparta started strong with four unanswered goals in the first period.  They got four more in the second and three each in the third and fourth, with the Lions getting only three.

Stelios Kroudis and Owen Mead were the high scores for the Spartans with three each.  Zack Eberding and Jesse West scored twice.  Eberding also had three assists and West had four assists.  Lucas Faria, Walker Schmitzer and Jack Bushey each contributed a goal.

Russell Eberding was 12 of 16 on face offs and goalie Daniel Smith had six saves.

Sparta was ranked fifth in Group 2 prior to this game.  They end the regular season with a record of 12-1.
