ROCKAWAY, NJ – Sparta High School boys lacrosse smacked Morris Hills with a 20-0 shutout on Tuesday. They played on the Scarlet Knights home turf where Owen Mead scored goal number 100.
Jesse West and Stelios accounted for half the goals with five each. West also had two assists and Stelios had one as well. Mead put up four points and three assists.
Russell Eberding contributed by winning 18 of 19 face-offs, grabbing 17 ground balls and scoring twice.
Jack Bushey had five assists and scored a goal. Brendan Puszcz, Alex Miliken and Luke Bushey added one each as well.
Daniel Smith started in goal with five saves. Kunal Dawar and Matt McAndris each had a turn in net stopping one each.
Sparta, now ranked number 18 in NJ.com's Top 20 has a season record of 4-0. The Spartans will go to the Pope John to take on the Lions on Thursday.
