SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - In their first game of the season, Sparta High School boys lacrosse crushed South Brunswick high school 22-8. On Wednesday, March 30 the Spartans traveled to South Brunswick where the dominated on all fronts.
The Spartans started strong with 11 goals to Vikings' one in the first quarter and never looked back. Russell Eberding contributed winning 22 of 24 face-offs and snagging 14 ground balls.
Top scorer for Sparta was Stelios Kroudis with seven goals and five ground balls, followed closely by Owen Mead with six goals and three assists. Jesse West also put four in the net and earned four assists as well.
Jack Bushey put up three points and Even Marcino got one.
Daniel Smith was in net for six saves. Kunal Dawar also had a turn in goal and stopped one.
With this big win under their belts Sparta will next travel to Pequannock on April 2 for a 10 a.m. game. Sparta's schedule has the boys playing on the road for their first eight games. They will have their first home game on April 20 against Mendham.
