SPARTA, NJ – The Spartans took down the Falcons to win the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA tournament on Friday with Jesse West getting career goal number 100.
Russell Eberding dominated the faceoffs winning 12 of 13. He also grabbed eight ground balls.
West scored four times with an assist. Stelios Kroudis also found the net four times. Ryan Rossiter scored twice.
A long list of Spartan contributed to the final score with a goal. Owen Mead, Jack Bushey, Devon McIntyer, Eberding, Brendan Puszcz, Luck Bushey and Evan Marcino all scored.
Nick Gitleman scooped up five ground balls and Paddy Finnegan had three.
Three goalies took turns defending the net. Daniel Smith stopped one Jeffersn attempt. Kunal Dawar stopped three and Matt McAndris got two.
Second seed Sparta moves on to the NJSIAA North Jersey Group 2 semifinal round on Wednesday against third seed Chatham.
