SUMMIT, NJ- After struggling through the first couple games, Sparta High School boys lacrosse needed a strong start against Summit. They were only down one goal after the first quarter before the floodgates opened.
Jesse West and Mike Freeman had the goals in the first quarter for Sparta. They let up three goals in the second quarter and two each in the third and fourth quarter to fall, 10-2, to Summit on Thursday.
Eric Anderson had seven saves for Sparta.
Sparta now enters the stretch in the season where they will be challenged. They are 1-3 and face three of the toughest teams they will see all year in the next three. Delbarton, Seton Hall Prep and Morristown-Beard are next on the Spartans schedule.
Sparta take on Delbarton on Tuesday looking to get back in the win column.
