SPARTA,  NJ - Coach Mike Wille’s sixth season as head coach of Sparta High School boys tennis will be one of his toughest after having lost four players from the 2016 team.

The 2016 season ended with a 11-9 record. This year will be more about building on the foundation of the young players. With the exception of returning first singles Nick Markiwsky, the other two singles players will be entering their first year in those positions.  But Wille still believes that is their strength.

Willie also believes Markiwsky could be getting some looks from college teams is he has a successful start this season.

Sophomore James Wang and junior Jared DeLeu have the potential to be stars of the program in the future and will use 2017 as a building year to gain experience.
