Sparta Chiropractor Named Top Doc by New Jersey Monthly

SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Chiropractor Ronald Santangelo was recently named to New Jersey Top Doctors list by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.  Santangelo or Doctor Ron,  has been treating patients in his practice Optimal Health since 1998.

His efforts to continue to stay abreast of latest techniques Santangelo continues his education.  Most recently Santangelo earned a Masters in Human Anatomy and Physiology Instruction, graduating with honors in 2016.  In 1990, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa, widely accepted as the fountainhead of chiropractic medicine.

Santangelo is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and has a certification in Manipulation Under Anesthesia and Logan Basis Technique for Scoliosis Correction.

The doctor’s experience and training has made a difference to his patients.  He requires all new patients go get x-rays before he will treat them.

In a recent case the x-ray “revealed an Abdominal Aortic Aneurism,” Michael Stoppay said. “Within a month I was scheduled for an endovascular surgery.  That is the reason I alive today.  If it weren’t for Dr. Ron’s intuition and medical knowledge I would not be here today.  I am forever grateful to him.”

The diagnosis and referral was not a one time thing.  Stephen Froelich had been treated by Santanglo for chiropractic issues but also found the doctor to be “an enormous help to me in my overall health for the past few years. Recently he was the one who diagnosed initially a Morton’s Neuroma in my left foot and guided me to the proper medical experts.”

The whole body approach to health is a theme with Santangelo’s patients.  Tippy Elizabeth Kirwin said, “Dr. Ron is more than a chiropractor; he is a professional that goes well beyond what is expected of a practitioner.  He doesn’t just approach your pain but is dedicated tohis patient’s total well being; body, mind and spirit.  He is ethical, trustworthy and approachable.  Dr. Ron doesn’t just treat symptoms but addresses what is going on under the hood, evaluating lifestyle activities, posture, orthotics or diet.”

Santangelo is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and has a certification in Manipulation Under Anesthesia and Logan Basis Technique for Scoliosis Correction.

“When I was younger, seven years ago, I had a rare condition that required me to have neck surgery,” Zachary Kayal said.  “Without the assistance of Dr. Ron I would not have recovered in the timely manner I did.  He made it his mission to ensure I would recover with full mobility and limited pain.”  Kayal points to Santangelo’s care as the reason he can be injury free as he works out in the gym or on the track.

A general surgeon, originally from north Jersey, now practicing in Florida said they have continued a professional and social relationship for more than 30 years.  “I continue to interact with Dr. Santangelo professionally when he reaches out to the Allopathic community.  We use distance technology to provide consultations for opinions that cross medical landscapes. “

“This sense of optimism and can-do attitude is something that he transmits to his patients and in doing so promotes their healing equally in mind, body and spirit,” Paula M. Mortnichak, M.D., M.B.E, FAPA said.  “In a word, Dr. Ron is a ‘total’ physician in the model of his greatest predecessors in the practice of both the science and the art of medicine.  I have had the pleasure of referring many patients from my own medical practice in New Jersey over the past twenty five years.  I have seen the positive contributions Dr. Santangelo has made to their health and wellbeing.”

Before coming to New Jersey, Santangeo had a practice in Leesburg, Virginia from 1995 to 1998.  Just after graduation Santangelo was an associate doctor at several practices in New Jersey.

Following his own career as a wrestler, Santangelo coached wrestling in New Jersey and Virginia until 2007. Dr. Ron and his wife Tracey enjoy spending time with their dogs and on their boat when not working.

“This is an honor and it has been my honor and personally rewarding to be able to help so many people and families with their health for so many years,” Santangelo said.
