SPARTA, NJ – The CVS in Sparta is providing COVID-19 drive thru testing. Anyone seeking to be tested must make an appointment through the CVS website.
Prior to getting an appointment, people must complete a questionnaire to see if they qualify for an appointment. The form asks about symptoms and underlying or preexisting medical conditions.
The CVS website said some may not qualify for testing “because of limited supplies and in accordance with CDC guidelines.”
People who are getting tested must remain in their car. They will be given a testing swab and collect the sample themselves. Only people who have an appointment will be tested. Additional people in a car will not be tested without an appointment according to the CVS website.
Because there are two types of testing, results will either be available in 30 minutes or two to four days. A link to the test results will be sent via email. They are only testing for active cases, not antibody tests the CVS website said.
The CVS website said insurance will be accepted, but there should not be out-of-pocket costs. People being tested need to bring proof of residence and health insurance.
