SPARTA, N.J. –The Sparta Ecumenical Council invites the Sparta community to Easter Sunrise Worship at the Lake Mohawk Boardwalk on Sunday March 27, at 7 a.m. This hour long service is an annual event for both the SEC and the Lake Mohawk Country Club.
The Reverend Patrick Sileo, of the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, will bring the Good News and the Reverend Randolph Parks, Chaplain at Newton Memorial Hospital, will assist. Music and lay leadership will be provided from community members.
An offering will be taken during the worship service. The proceeds will benefit the ongoing work of the Sparta Ecumenical Council Food Pantry, which is located at First Presbyterian Church, 32 Main Street.
“The Boardwalk at Lake Mohawk is a wonderful and beautiful setting to celebrate the risen Lord,” said Reverend Parks. The Lake Mohawk Country Club will also host a short reception after the service. All who attend worship are invited for a time of fellowship.
The Sparta Ecumenical Council was formed in 1968 to educate the people in the Sparta area about Christianity and to work and worship together in discipleship. The council continues to meet as a support to area clergy & the work of being the Good News to all. For more information about the SEC, contact the Rev. Kristina Reyes, Pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, at 973-729-7010 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
