SPARTA, NJ--- Three prize winners who pre-registered for the FireFan app prior to the Turkey Trot included Ellen Anderson who won an Apple watch, Olivia Giralt, winner of the Beats Solo2 Luxe Headphones and Aiden Ryan, recipient of a $100 gift certificate to Krogh’s.
The Apple watch and gift certificate were donated by Andy Garger, the Beats headphones by Christian Blendinger and banners for the event by both Garger, Blendinger and Rob Daly. Each is a Sparta resident and partner in the company Play4YourCause, the firm that drives donations from users of the FireFan app directly to the SEF.
“The FireFan app is even more fun to use as we approach the Super Bowl,” said Danielle Dykstra, President of the SEF. “The premise is simple: the more people we have signing up with our code, playing the game and watching ads, the more money we can raise for Sparta’s public schools. Just go to www.firefan.com and type in “SEF” to register and you’ll be able to follow along with the season’s biggest NFL showdown.”
Support the Sparta Education Foundation when you download FireFan, a free mobile sports app that will donate funds to the Foundation when you play. Players can register at www.firefan.com when entering the code “SEF”. They earn free tokens by watching ads which are used to play games. The app follows along with NFL games in real time, including season playoffs and the upcoming 51Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5.
The FireFan app allows users to predict outcomes in real time on game day with a series of game-related questions about which team will win, who will win the coin toss or how many yards will be gained in the next play. Players who predict correctly can exchange their loyalty rewards points for merchandise like hats, jerseys or game tickets. FireFan will initially follow NFL games, and sports will change with the seasons to include basketball, professional soccer and baseball. Every time a player watches an ad and plays a game, money is raised for the SEF.
The Sparta Education Foundation strengthens public schools, supports teachers and inspires students. Since 2006, they have donated over $775,000 in grants to all five of Sparta’s public schools. The Foundation is an independent, non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose mission is to engage the entire community in philanthropic giving.
