SPARTA, NJ – The community is once again invited to join the Sparta Elks for their annual Polar Plunge into Lake Mohawk. While it might not be a cold as last year, it will still take hearty souls to make the jump for charity on March 13.
This is the sixth year for this event. It is a fundraiser for the special needs children and Elks Camp Moore supported by the Sparta chapter. The camp provides a week of fun away from home where the children can develop recreational and social skills.
The Elks will accept donations from non-plungers as well.
“We encourage plungers to form teams with co-workers, family and friends. Feel free to dress in costume or with your corporate colors,” said Event Chairman Pete Appaluccio.
Awards will be given for the best costume.
