SPARTA, NJ – Area residents attending the Sparta Farmers Market on Saturday have an additional chance to give back to the Sussex County community. The market will be a drop off site for gifts donated for the Center for Prevention’s Holiday Party.
The Center for Prevention will be hosting a party for 100 local children in need on December 12 at the Christ Episcopal Church on Main Street in Newton.
"During this busy holiday season, it is nice to stop and pause with families to celebrate the holiday season," said Becky Carlson, Executive Director of the Center for Prevention. "Each year, a group staff members work to put together a fun holiday party complete with breakfast, games, crafts, caroling and a visit from Santa for the children and their parents to enjoy.
"We appreciate the support people give to this joyous event to help families feel cared for by the community. We are thankful for the donations of gifts for the children, the support of the Action Municipal Alliance for providing the food and the care from our staff and volunteers in making this day a success."
The Sparta Farmers Market is located in the lower level of the Sparta Middle School at 350 Main Street. The SFM is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
