SPARTA, NJ – For the second time in three days, Sparta High School field hockey faced Pope John on Tuesday.  The Lady Spartans traveled across town where they beat the Lady Lions again 9-1.

Coach Kristin Lindsley said all of the varsity players contributed to the win.  It was the first conference win for Sparta.

Isabella Candeloro and Lauren Schellenberger each had two goals.  Rhett Curran had a goal and four assists, Jackie Hallack had a goal and three assists.

Gretchen Bowie, Alexis Gudenkauf and Kelly Martin contributed with a goal each.  Bella Tracy had an assist.

Goal keeper Courtney McKenna had three saves and goalie Angela Elzind stopped one.

The Spartan record for the season is 6-2-1.
