SPARTA, NJ – It was another successful night for Sparta girls basketball, beating West Morris 52-47 on Monday. The girls move their record to 13-1.
West Morris was a strong opponent with three players putting up double digits but it was not enough. Sparta dominated the first quarter 17-6 and West Morris could not overcome that spread.
Brynn McCurry had 19 points in the outing, seven 2-pointers and five from the foul line. She had six rebounds and five assists, working both ends of the court.
Ally Sweeney scored 13, dropping them in from inside the paint, outside and from the free throw line.
Alexa Acker added eight points with nine rebounds and five blocks. Bailey Chapman put up seven, two3-pointers and a foul shot.
Olivia Bouma-Hannam and Mason Munier added to the win with points, rebounds and assists.
The Spartans play on the Braves’ court in Newton on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
